Inca Blanket Rhyolite

Inca Blanket Rhyolite is a new material that resembles a cross between the markings of Noreena and the colors of Cherry Creek. The finished pieces will show outstanding patterns with great color variation including red, green, blue, purple and yellow. The material is a rhyolite so therefore it is on the soft side.

Rhyolite is a silica-rich volcanic rock created from violent and explosive eruptions. As magma during an active eruption brews beneath the surface, granite begins to form. During this time, these subsurface, newly formed crystalline structures are occasionally ejected; creating what we call Rhyolite.

Rhyolite is a felsic mineral (contains a majority of silica) that’s made up of tiny crystals within. Some of these are Quartz, Biotite, Plagioclase (feldspar minerals), Hornblende, and Sanidine. This combination can vary with each piece and alters the color and depth of Rhyolite. You will mainly see this mineral in a beige or grey form, but it can also be found in a dark green.

Rhyolite clears away emotional blockages and its transformative powers cleanses negativity. Rhyolite helps us to focus on what's really important and helps to stay emotionally balanced.

Rhyolite reminds us that achieving a state of bliss is all about perspective. Rhyolite works to reset the mind, helping turn negatives in the positives. After all, the most beautiful and astonishing things are created out of destruction and chaos, including the universe itself.
