Jasper from Lake Michigan, handcrafted into a cabochon. Stone cabochons are gemstones which have been shaped and polished as opposed to faceted. The resulting form is usually a convex (rounded) front with a flat reverse. Stone cabochons are utilized by jewelry artists and designers to create unique wearable art. This Lake Michigan Jasper Cabochon will give your stone jewelry designs a unique, high-quality appearance making it a one-of-a-kind treasure!
Jasper, an aggregate of microgranular quartz and/or chalcedony and other mineral phases, is an opaque, impure variety of silica, usually red, yellow, brown or green in color; and rarely blue. The common red color is due to iron(III) inclusions. The mineral aggregate breaks with a smooth surface and is used for ornamentation or as a gemstone.
Stone of gentleness, comfort, and relaxation. Has protective energies and is sometimes called the "nurturing stone."
