Obsidian is a naturally occurring volcanic glass formed as an extrusive igneous rock Obsidian is produced when felsic lava extruded from a volcano cools rapidly with minimal crystal growth. It is commonly found within the margins of rhyolitic lava flows known as obsidian flows, where the chemical composition (high silica content) induces a high degree of viscosity and polymerization of the lava.
Obsidian creates a protective shield that deflects negativity and repels attempts of others to assert power over us. Helps us to uncover our unique skills and hidden talents whilst releasing blockages to our spiritual and personal growth.
